Rugby Demands an A&E

Rugby residents are demanding an A&E for our town - and so are Rugby Conservatives.

Thanks to the campaign led by former MP Mark Pawsey, and Councillor Yousef Dahmash, the local NHS committed to bringing doctor-led urgent care back to St Cross. Since Labour took control of the government, the council, and we've had a Labour MP, they've dropped the baton passed to them by the Conservatives.

Since then, wards have closed at St Cross and to make matters worse Labour and Lib Dem councillors are now planning to build thousands more houses in Rugby, putting even more pressure on all our services. Over 115,000 people live in our borough, and there are smaller towns that have a full A&E.

Cllr Yousef Dahmash, Chairman of Rugby Conservatives, said: "Our campaign for urgent care doctors back at St Cross was always intended as a first step towards making the case for a full A&E. It’s not an easy battle to win, but it’s the right one to fight and with Labour planning to build thousands more houses here, our argument is even stronger. We need a long-term plan to get A&E back in Rugby."
